Staying Faithful in College

Staying Faithful in College

_____________________________________

This last month, I’ve been getting ready and starting my college experience and it’s been an amazing journey so far! While I’ve been making new friends and keeping up with my work, I’ve found it difficult to make time for the Lord but as I continue to go throughout my day-to-day schedule, I’m figuring out more how to integrate God into my life, not just at church, but everywhere I go. Here are a few ways to do that while living a college student life!

Identity

This is HUGE!! It all starts with knowing who you are in Christ. I’ve noticed that as I live in an environment that I’m not used to, I might act a little differently or when it comes to meeting new people I might try a different identity to see if they like that one more. Listen, it can be hard, but in the end, you’re always going to be a son/daughter of the king. That’s just the reality of it but isn’t that a GOOD reality? It’s great because it’s not the work ethic, popularity, parties, or athletics that define you. It’s God’s unfailing love

Make Time to Read Your Bible!!

If you’ve already been or are planning to go to college, you know that it can be a VERY chaotic thing sometimes. College is a big balancing act between friends, school, work, and other things but it’s extremely important to dive into the word when you can, whether that means waking up early or staying up later. This is essential to being able to shine God’s light everywhere you go! That also goes along with the aspect of walking in love because that can be hard to do sometimes, especially when things get stressful.

Trust God

Since college is such a huge step in life, it can be hard to trust that God’s got your back and in fact, you could forget about him overall and rely on your own understanding. This is why it’s important to lean on him always, in the good and the bad. We here at Joshua1.com have a Christian shirt that’s all about faith in the storm. With storms come trials and might cause you to sin so guard your heart in these storms and trust that God can take you through it no matter what it is!

Godly People

Surrounding yourself with other Christians in college is one of the best things you can do. They’re people that you can always go to in times of need and if you think about it, people who are going through the same thing as you are. When you can walk with someone who’s going through the same stage of life, you can walk with them in faith as well and that’s a powerful thing. God created us to be with people, so surround yourself with the right ones!
